Objectives

NSS

Develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among students
Develop their capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters

Promotion and protection of health and life
Selfless services to the sick and suffering
Promotion of national and international friendship
Disaster relief to the victims
Donate Blood & Save Life
To harness the potential of the youth by equipping them with correct information on HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care, Support and Treatment.
To spread messages on positive health behavior in an enabling environment and increasing voluntary blood donation from among youth.
Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the management authorities and principal of the College from time to time

Electoral Awareness Forum

To develop a culture of electoral participation and maximize the informed and ethical voting and follow the principle 'Every vote counts' and 'No Voter to be Left Behind'
To familiarize students with the electoral process of registration and voting
Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the management authorities and principal of the College from time to time

Duties and responsibilities - NSS

To plan the NSS regular activities and special camping programme as Programme guidelines issued by the Government of India and Programme Coordinator of the Alagappa University.
The Programme officer will ensure that NSS volunteers complete the prescribed hours in regular activities and participate in special camping programme as per requirements.
To supervise the working of NSS volunteers.
To ensure that the basic aims of NSS Programme i.e. personality development of NSS volunteers, interaction of the different classes of society take place harmoniously and the NSS volunteers and community are benefited from the activities of NSS unit.
To maintain the necessary records and registers prescribed by Government of India and Programme Coordinator of the university.
To be responsible for the equipment and stores purchased out of NSS funds.
To spend the NSS grants as per administrative and financial directives of the ALU.
To depute NSS volunteers for participation in various programmes sponsored by the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India such as National Integration Camps, Adventure Programmes, Republic Day Parade and any other function organized by the NSS Regional Centre and Alagappa University
To coordinate with the voluntary organizations working in the field of community development in general and youth work in particular.
To convene the meeting of the college advisory committee in consultation with the Principal of the institution
Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the management authorities and principal of the College from time to time

Duties and responsibilities – YRC & RRC

Awareness programmes on reproductive and sexual health.
Practice of Health habits
Organizing blood donation camps.
To organize programmes around healthy life style, stress free life, drug addiction, life skills development and good eating habits
Rendering help and assistance to the needy and meritorious physically challenged people
Organizing a talent hunt programme among orphanage students and visually challenged people.
Activity related to civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern
Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the management authorities and principal of the College from time to time

Electoral Awareness Forum

Organize activities like outreach programs and in campus programs with targeted groups to create voting awareness.
To engage students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitize them on their electoral rights
To familiarize students with the electoral process of registration and voting
