The Department of English, MSHCASW successfully organized a One-Day Seminar on “Personality Development Through Theatre” on 11.02.2026.
The session was led by our distinguished Resource Person, Mr. K. Shanmuga Velatham, M.A., M.Phil., B.Ed., SET, Head, Department of Visual Communication, Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous), Trichy.
The seminar went beyond theory, engaging students through a variety of off-stage interactive activities such as fun games, collaboration tasks, problem-solving challenges, creative writing moments, team-building exercises, and emotional intelligence activities. These sessions encouraged students to explore communication, confidence, leadership, and unity in a dynamic and enjoyable way.
The workshop inspired participants to step out of their comfort zones and equipped them with essential life skills for a brighter and more confident future.
Department of BCA, CS, IT and The Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) jointly organized a one-day workshop on the topic “AI and Industry 14.0 Tools for Innovators & Entrepreneurs” on 11th February 2026.
The primary objective of the programme was to enhance awareness among students about various real-life AI tools, the roles of AI technologies, and their practical applications across different industries. The session also focused on exploring innovative start-up ideas based on real-world problem-solving approaches using AI and Industry 14.0 technologies.
Special emphasis was given to guiding final-year students on effectively utilizing AI tools in their project work, helping them improve research quality, innovation capability, and implementation strategies.
The workshop was highly informative and interactive. A total of 220 students and 12 faculty members participated in the programme and benefited from the insightful sessions.
We thanks the Principal and the Management for their continuous support, encouragement, and valuable guidance in organizing this successful programme. Their motivation and commitment greatly contributed to the smooth conduct of the event.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Mohamed Sathak Hamid College of Arts and Science for Women, Ramanathapuram, organized a session titled “Insights into Innovation, Leadership and Success” on 05.02.2026.
The event was presided over by Dr. M. Meera, Principal of MSHCASW. The programme commenced with the recitation of Qirath by Ms. A. Aashifa Banu, III B.Com (CA), followed by the welcome address delivered by Ms. Shaliha Noori Anwar Sadath, II B.Sc. Microbiology.
The Chief Guest address was delivered by Mrs. A. Muthupandi, Operation Team Lead, Native Lead Foundation, Madurai, who shared her entrepreneurial journey and professional experiences in the social innovation and start-up ecosystem. She highlighted the importance of innovation-driven thinking, leadership skills, and perseverance in building sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. S. Noorul Raseena, II B.Com (CA). The programme was hosted by Ms. A. Jennathul Firthous and Ms. S. Sabari Archana, III B.Sc. Microbiology. The overall event was organized by Ms. J. Joshi, EDC Coordinator, and Ms. C. Pandisasikala, Convener, IIC, MSHCASW.
An online session on financial literacy related to the stock market was conducted by Dr.Raina champawat from the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Mumbai on 05.02.2026 and 06.02.2026.
The resource person equipped the participants with valuable knowledge about the primary and secondary markets, and explained the procedures involved in investing in securities.
He elaborated on the functions of the secondary market, the importance of knowing one’s broker, and provided practical tips on identifying and avoiding scammers. The session also highlighted the use of online grievance redressal forums and online dispute resolution mechanisms available to investors. Overall, the program enhanced the participants’ understanding of the stock market and promoted awareness about safe and informed investing practices.
The Naan Mudhalvan Team organized a Placement Drive on 31.01.2026 at Syed Ammal Arts and Science College. The Training and Placement Cell facilitated and coordinated the participation of the final-year students from our college. Various companies participated in the drive, and the students actively took part. At the end of the selection process,

The Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) and the R & D climate Action Unit of Research and Development Committee of MSHCASW, Ramanathapuram, jointly organized a One-Day Seminar titled “Introducing R&D Processes, Research Ethics, Funding Sources and Global Best Practices” on 31st January 2026.
The programme commenced with Qirath by Ms. M. Rehanithal Athavia, Head, Department of Arabic, followed by Tamil Thaai Vazhthu. The session was gracefully compered by Ms. A. Noorul Hathija, Head, Department of English.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. J. Joshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce with Computer Application, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, resource persons, and participants, highlighting the importance of research and innovation in higher education.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. M. Meera, Principal, MSHCASW, delivered the Felicitation Address. In her inspiring address, she emphasized the significance of research ethics, encouraged faculty and students to actively engage in research activities, and motivated them to contribute meaningfully to academic excellence and societal development.
The technical session was handled by Mr. Prabhu Elangovan, Head, Research & Development, V Organic World, Chennai & Ramanad. The resource person elaborated on the R&D process, ethical considerations in research, various national and international funding sources, and global best practices. The session was highly informative and interactive, providing valuable insights and practical guidance to budding researchers.
The seminar concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. T. Sumathi, Head, Department of Library and Information Science, who expressed gratitude to the management, Principal, organizing committee members, resource person, and participants for making the event a grand success. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
The seminar successfully achieved its objective of creating awareness about research methodologies, ethics, and funding opportunities, and it significantly contributed to strengthening the research culture of the institution.
The Department of Information Technology, in association with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and the District Employment Office & Training Centre, successfully organized a One-Day Awareness Program on “Telecom Services Awareness” on 28th January 2026.
The program aimed to create awareness among students about telecom services, consumer rights, digital safety, and emerging opportunities in the telecom sector. The session was highly informative and interactive, helping students gain practical insights and industry-oriented knowledge.

The 77th Republic Day of our nation was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Mohamed Sathak Hamid College of Arts and Science for Women on 26th January 2026. The event was graced by the presence of our respected Principal, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students.
The celebration began by seeking the blessings of the Almighty with a Qirath recitation by Ms.H.Nazima Banu, Assistant Professor, Department of Arabic. This was followed by the rendition of the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, paying respect to our motherland.
The March Past was then conducted as a mark of tribute to the courageous freedom fighters who gifted us this freedom. The marchers displayed discipline, unity, and pride as they saluted the Tricolor.
The most awaited moment of the event, the Flag Unfurling Ceremony, filled the air with patriotic spirit as the National Flag was unfurled. All present paid homage to the flag, a symbol of our freedom and unity. This was followed by the Flag Song.
The gathering then took the National Pledge, reaffirming loyalty and devotion to the country.
To commemorate the sacrifices and struggles of our freedom fighters, Ms.Jennathul Firthous from III B.Sc. Microbiology delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of Republic Day and the responsibilities of every citizen towards nation-building.
The celebration concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, filling every heart with pride and patriotism. The day’s events served as a reminder of the value of freedom and the duty we owe to our nation.

The Department of Microbiology organized a conference with the active participation of students and distinguished guests. The program began with a prayer by S. Shifana Parveen (I B.Sc. Microbiology) followed by Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu. The Welcome Address was delivered by A. Jennathul Firthous (III B.Sc. Microbiology).
The Felicitation Address was given by Dr. M. Meera, Principal, who also honoured the guest and presented the Conference Proceedings. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. C. Ravinder Singh, Chief Scientist, Research and Innovation, and the Keynote Address was presented by Dr. R. Dinesh Kumar, Assistant Professor.
In Session 1, Dr. C. Ravinder Singh served as the Resource Person. An Oral Presentation Competition was conducted and judged by Dr. R. Dinesh Kumar and Mr. Prabhu Elangovan.
In Session 2, the Resource Person was Dr. R. Dinesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, Vivekanandha Arts and Science College for Women. A Poster Presentation Competition was held and judged by Dr. C. Ravinder Singh and Mr. Prabhu Elangovan.
The Valediction was addressed by Dr. C. Ravinder Singh, Dr. R. Dinesh Kumar, and Dr. M. Meera, Principal. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Shaliha Noori Anwar Sadath (II B.Sc. Microbiology).

The Department of English organized a One Day Seminar on “Building Future: Career Pathways for English Graduates” on 29.09.2025 at Mohamed Sathak Hamid College of Arts and Science for Women.
The programme commenced with Qirath recitation by Ms. A. Jameema Banu. The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. H. Seeni Al Safrin of III B.A. English. The Principal of MSHCASW, Dr. M. Meera, honored the Chief Guest with a memento.
The session began with the Principal addressing the gathering. She spoke in a thought-provoking manner, urging the students to utilize this opportunity to explore more about the field and to make the best use of the session. She welcomed the Chief Guest warmly and set the tone for an engaging and insightful programme.
Following this, Ms. A. Noorul Hathija, Head of the Department of English, shared her words about the Chief Guest, Ms. Kavitha Krishnakumar. She recalled the experiences she had with the Chief Guest during her own college days and described how those moments were truly inspiring and mind-blowing. Her remarks created a sense of admiration and respect, making the audience eager to listen to the Chief Guest’s address.
Then, the Chief Guest Ms. Kavitha Krishnakumar, Director of Sthariya Academy, Chennai, in her address, motivated the English graduates to view their career journey as a path of exploration and growth. She pointed out that while there are abundant opportunities available, many of them may begin with minimal pay. However, she emphasized that these initial experiences help students to identify their strengths, gain confidence, and gradually shape a fulfilling career.
She also reflected on the balance between salary and satisfaction, urging students to value long-term growth and self-development alongside financial stability. The Chief Guest reminded the graduates that the world expects much from English professionals, particularly in terms of communication skills, fluency, and confidence. She encouraged the students to overcome fear, to speak boldly in good English, and to embrace their potential as capable contributors in society.
After the break, all the final-year students of different streams attended the second part of the programme. The Chief Guest delivered a general speech on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related opportunities. She explained the growing importance of AI in today’s world and how it is reshaping multiple industries.
She also highlighted the availability of free certification courses, encouraging students to make use of these resources to expand their knowledge and strengthen their expertise. According to her, such certifications would enable students to remain updated, master emerging fields, and improve their career prospects alongside their specialization in English.
The post-break session was informative and thought-provoking, complementing the motivational guidance of the morning session. Together, the two sessions left the students inspired, confident, and well-informed to embark on their professional journey.

Training and Placement Cell organized a two-day training program on “AI Livelihoods” on 08.09.2025 and 09.09.2025. The program focused on creating awareness about the role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping future careers and livelihood opportunities. The sessions included expert talks, interactive discussions, and hands-on demonstrations, enabling students to explore AI applications across various sectors. The program also highlighted the importance of acquiring AI skills through platforms like Coursera and other professional certifications.
